The Placement Linked Training Program (PLTP) is an initiative by the Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA) aimed at enhancing the employability of youth in Odisha. This program focuses on providing industry-relevant skills that leads to employment opportunities in private sector.

Objective

• The program aims at youth of Odisha by offering skill training, skill certification, placement opportunities and enhancing income generation capacity

• Training is industry aligned to meet the demands of various industries, ensuring that participants acquire skills that are in high demand.
• The program covers sectors such as manufacturing, IT, healthcare, hospitality, construction, logistics, and retail
• This program offers free skill training with lodging and boarding facilities
• Training partners are empaneled based on their past experience, availability of infrastructure, proven placement track record and delivery mechanism to ensure high-quality training

Implementation and Collaboration

• OSDA implements the Placement Linked Training Program (PLTP) through various private and government Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs).
• OSDA collaborates with eligible training agencies and industries, which undertake activities such as mobilization, counseling, screening, training, placement, and tracking.

Target Group

• The program provides employable skills to youth, with a particular focus on school/college dropouts.

Program Structure

• Trainees undergo a short-term skilling course of their choice ranging from 200 – 1000 hours.
• The program offers both residential and non-residential training options.

Employment and Quality Assurance

• Training agencies ensure trainees find employment in their respective trades, with salaries/wages meeting the state's minimum wage standards.
• The program benefits from the involvement of potential employers ensuring high-quality training.
